Jewellery Making Workshop Holidays in France
FAQ's
We've tried to list some of the most common questions we are asked about our jewellery making short breaks and holidays but please don't hesitate to email or telephone us if you have any questions or would like a chat about the workshops, accommodation etc.
Where is La Vidalerie ?
We are in the beautiful and un spoilt Aveyron in SW France, largely undiscovered, it is the 5th largest department in France but has one of the smallest populations - Email us and we'll send you a brochure !
How do I get to La Vidalerie ?
Our closest airport is Rodez (RyanAir offer cheap flights from Stansted to Rodez and Dublin to Rodez), If you are unable to fly into Rodez we can offer airport pickups from Montpellier (add £75, £50 one way) and Toulouse (add £100, £60 one way). Pickups from Rodez are free.
I will be traveling on my own
Almost all of our guests are women traveling on their own, this is why we think it is so important to collect you from the Arrivals Gate and take you into the airport when you return.
I want to travel with just hand luggage ?
We provide towels, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel and there is a hair drier in the cottage so don't worry about bringing these.
Do you run workshops all year round ?
Yes
Do I need to bring my own tools ?
No - Don't worry about buying any special for the workshops, we have lots of beads and tools. If you have your own favorite tools feel free to bring them (maybe mark them with some tape so they don't get mixed up) but remember you can't bring them in your hand luggage.
What are the options for dinner ?
Each day you will have the option of catering for yourself (we will take you to the local supermarket for supplies), having dinner with us (15 Euros - Please click here for some example dinner menus) or or eating out at one of the nearby restaurants (we will drop you off and pick you up).
What meals are included ?
Breakfast and lunch at La Vidalerie - any meals/drinks taken outside are not included (eg restaurants & cafes). Tea, coffee etc are provided (let us know if you have special requirements)
Do you cater for vegetarians ?
Yes, if you have any special requirement with regards to mealsjust let us know.
Do I have to share a room ?
NO - Definitely not, we want you to have a relaxing holiday and feel that having your own room is an important part of this. Your room has a double bed, TV with DVD player and comfortable chair.
Do I need a car ?
We are about 13km from St Geniez, our nearest small town but unless you want to do sightseeing on your own you won't need a car as we are happy to offer transfers into St Geniez.
I'd like to know more about the area ?
Please email me and I will send you a brochure about the Aveyron.
I've never made jewellery before, will this be a problem ?
No - our workshops are designed for complete beginners to those who have had a go but want to develop their skills.
Do you offer one to one workshops ?
Yes - We charge 50% extra and you will have one to one tuition and the cottage to yourself. The holiday will be designed around you.
