Learn how to incorporate beautiful semi-precious cabachons into your jewellellery. You will learn how to cut sheet and use bezel wire to make rings, pendants and earrings with bezel settings to fit your stones or fused glass. We have created 3 versions of this workshop to suit absolute beginners and those with basic silversmithing experience - more information below the photos.

This workshop is available in the following formats:
Absolute beginners with no silversmithing experience
2 workshop days/3 nights - £295 (or 2 workshop days, 1 free day/4 nights - £340)
This is a project based workshop where you will learn how to make a silver wire ring, pendant and (if there is time) wider ring sheet ring all with bezel set cabachon stones or dichroic glass. You will be taught how to saw sheet metal, basic soldering and how to set your chosen stones.
OR - If you have the time available I would recommend the 3 day workshop below which is a wider introduction to silversmithing techniques.
3 workshop days/4 nights - £395
This workshop is a more thorough introduction to silversmithing and bezel stone setting - Please click here for more information about our Introduction to Silversmithing workshop.
Intermediate - Prerequisites - You have already taken our Introduction to Silversmithing workshop.
2 workshop days/3 nights - £295 (or 2 workshop days, 1 free day/4 nights - £340) - Also 3 workshop days available - £395
We will briefly review all the silversmithing basics and then go onto designing and making your own projects including rings, pendants, and earrings. New skills will include measuring your stone and making a bezel to fit, using stamps to decorate the bezel, using a pusher to set your stones and designing ways of making your bezel surround enhance your bezel and stone. The photos above are just some examples of the type of designs you can produce.

Short Break - £295
Day 1 - Arrive at Rodez Airport and depending upon your arrival time, sightseeing on the way to St Geniez d'Olt so you can settle into your room before having dinner (dinner is not included in the price)
Days 2 & 3 - Workshop days - 2 days of jewellery making. On these days breakfast and lunch will be provided at La Vidalerie.
Day 4 - Depending upon your departure time - leisurely drive to Rodez Airport in good time for your flight home
Longer Breaks 3 Days / 4 Nights Breaks - £395
Similar itinerary to above but with either an extra workshop day.

Where is the Aveyron
Aveyron is the fifth largest department in France but is 78th in terms of population - it really is a land of open spaces (a nature reserve covers one third of the department).
Nearest airport - Rodez (Cheap flights via RyanAir).
Stunning valley and breath taking scenery along with having 10 of the official “les plus beaux villages de France” (more than any other department) Aveyron is a photographers dream
