Hello You !

Thank you for visiting my website.  I'm Karen, fiercely passionate about everything I make in my small atelier in SW France.

​

I'm supported by a sea of ginger cats and a part time dog.  I spend most of my time designing and making in a secadou (small building for drying chestnuts), surrounded by trees in the beautiful Aveyron in SW France, just 5km from Conques, one of the official Grand Sites de France and close to the Chemin de Saint Jaques, a popular walk for pilgrims and walkers from around the world.

I have been based in the Aveyron for over 17 years now, 12 of them running jewellery making holidays and teaching others the love of silversmithing.  Covid of course made a lot of us re-evaluate our lives and last year I took the decision not to re-open for classes.

​

Everything on my website and Etsy stores is designed and made by me from beginning to end in solid Sterling Silver & Gold.

​

My passion for making silver jewellery began with an obsession with earrings - you just really cannot have enough, well at least I couldn't.  Starting as many do with making beaded earrings, this soon progressed into a love of silver, precious stones and fire.

My second Etsy store was a by-product of my beaded earring days, when I quickly found that the choice of readymade ear wires was incredibly small and to be honest most were rather ugly - so I descide to design and make my own ear wires and these proved so popular that I started selling them to other jewellery makers - You can find my ear wires here - Handmade Ear Wires
